From the trip
The Chalet
A traditional Alpine farmhouse in Buchen im Prättigau, a quiet village in Graubünden at around 1,000 metres. Wooden beams, two separate dining rooms, a living room with a wood stove, a ping pong table in the barn, and a large garden with mountain views on every side. The kind of place that feels like it's been lived in and loved.
The Area
The Prättigau is one of Graubünden's quieter valleys — a long stretch of meadows, forest paths, and traditional villages running east from Landquart toward Klosters. Good hiking straight from the chalet, and enough nearby to fill a full day out. On our day out, we visited the Taminaschlucht and the village of Bad Ragaz.
How the days unfolded
WEDNESDAY
Arrival — a night under the stars.
Settled in, then stayed up to watch the stars.
THURSDAY & FRIDAY
Full work days from the chalet.
Worked at our own pace, then short hikes in the afternoon.
SATURDAY
Day out — Taminaschlucht and Bad Ragaz.
A day away from the desk, exploring the gorge and the village.
SUNDAY
Departure.
We had breakfast, then everyone headed out by around 11am.
